PRIVATE PRACTICE: 
Mr. Scagluso was 
admitted to the New York State Bar in June, 1985, and has been in private 
practice since that time.  After practicing as an associate attorney in a law 
firm located in Melville, New York, he left in 1994 to establish his own law 
firm in Smithtown, New York.  Since 1994, Mr. Scagluso has operated his general 
law practice handling matters concerning businesses and corporate counseling, 
the formation of business entities, commercial and residential real estate, 
commercial and civil litigation, personal injury litigation, bankruptcy and 
debtor-creditor matters, wills and estate planning, the probate of estates,  
mortgage lending, foreclosure actions, matrimonial and family law and workers 
compensation.  Mr. Scagluso represents many local businesses, individuals, 
condominiums, homeowner associations and housing cooperatives, and both 
Plaintiffs and Defendants.
 
Mr. Scagluso has 
been consistently awarded a “BV”® 
rating by MARTINDALE-HUBBELL®, 
a rating earned as a result of an extensive and confidential peer review of 
other members of the New York Bar.

 COURT ADMISSIONS AND 
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS: 
Mr. Scagluso 
was admitted to the New York Bar in 1985, and in is admitted to the FEDERAL 
DISTRICT COURTS for the SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF NEW YORK and the EASTERN DISTRICT 
OF NEW YORK.  Thereafter, in 1995, Mr. Scagluso attended ceremonies in 
Washington, D.C. to be sworn in for admission to the UNITED STATES SUPREME 
COURT, the UNITED STATES COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE FEDERAL CIRCUIT, the UNITED 
STATES COURT OF FEDERAL CLAIMS, and the UNITED STATES COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE 
ARMED FORCES.   
He is a member 
of NEW YORK STATE BAR ASSOCIATION and SUFFOLK COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION, and has 
served as a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association's committees for Real 
Estate, Surrogates Court, Corporate Practice, and Plaintiff’s Negligence. LEGAL CLERKSHIPS: 
Mr. Scagluso 
served as a law intern for the Hon. Sybil Hart Cooper, a Justice of the 
Appellate Division, Second Department, and the Supreme Court, Kings County and 
clerked at the District Court Bureau of the Suffolk County District Attorney.  
While attending law school, he worked as a law clerk with a prominent New York 
City law firm.
 
EDUCATIONAL 
DEGREES and INTERNSHIPS:  
He was awarded 
a Juris Doctor Degree in 1984 from 
New York Law School, where he was awarded the Certificate of Merit for Oral 
Arguments. In 1980, he was graduated from Binghamton University, and conferred 
with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Economics.  He was awarded a Regents 
Scholarship by the State of New York.  As part of his college education,
 
 Mr. Scagluso served as a Congressional Intern to the Hon. Matthew F. McHugh, the 
United States Congressman of the 27th District of New York (as it was then 
known).  Additionally, he worked as a Research Assistant for a University study 
conducted by Cornell University’s New York State School of Industry and Labor 
Relations, researching for a New York State study of the economic impact of 
industrial plant closings and relocations upon the upstate New York State 
region.  While attending Binghamton University, Mr. Scagluso was appointed a 
Resident Assistant, and served as an editor for the 1980 United States Census.
 
COMMUNITY 
ACTIVITIES: 
Mr. Scagluso is 
a member of the Nesconset Chamber of Commerce.  He is also a member of the 
Nesconset Taxpayers Association, and has served as its Vice President and 
Secretary.  From 1987 to 2005, Mr. Scagluso served as President of the  Board of 
Directors of a local cooperative housing association, serving as its first 
President until resigning in 2005.  He established corporate governance and 
corporate policy, and was responsible for drafting and approving annual 
corporate budgets, negotiating management and other contracts, and the 
successful operation of the corporation.  
 Mr. Scagluso served as a member of the 
Board of Directors for several other condominiums, Planned Unit Developments and 
Cooperative entities on behalf of the sponsor and builders of several projects.  
Mr. Scagluso served as the Vice President and Secretary of the Nesconset 
Taxpayers Association, is a member of the Nesconset Chamber of Commerce and is 
active in other community activities, including the Nesconset Athletic 
Association and St. Patrick’s Youth Athletic Association.
